In Ms. Burger's ELA Classroom, students learn and apply literacy skills to different texts, engage in collaborative learning exercises, form arguments in writing, compose narrative pieces, and use technology as a resource for learning, just as provide a few examples. Students are also offered opportunities to work collaboratively with peers in order to further develop their skills in English.
Students in middle school ELA will experience literature circles while reading different literature pieces such as novels. Students will engage in literature pieces, informational text, poetry, and drama during the course of the school year. Through these different types of literature, students will have opportunities to select and create projects centered around what is read in class, demonstrating knowledge of key concepts such as theme, character development, plot, etc.
