Jalae Village Bridge

There were two aspects to this building project. The first is the building of a permanent bridge to enable the villagers to cross the Mae Yao River and get to the farm and to study at the Huay Mae Sai School. The current bridge has been damaged by flash floods and it isn't possible for the villager or student to use it.It is especially dangerous when the children in the village try and cross it.

A strong bridge will also encourage travellers who currently pass by Jalae to crossover the bridge and visit the village, therefore encouraging trade of local handicrafts. The second aspect of the project is to build a number of toilets for families in the nearby Bank of Akha, which will improve the quality of their lives and improve sanitation for the villager. It may also encourage future groups to visit and stay in their area because they will be able to provide a toilet facility.
